The cares

Most of the Clinique’s inpatients are hospitalized to maximize recovery following orthopedic surgery (hip, knee, shoulder, spine).

We also offer care to patients for rehabilitation after a neurological and vascular accident or surgery.

Clinique Les Trois Soleils is the first private French center to have developed a comprehensive neurological rehabilitation program.

Furthermore, the Clinique Les Trois Soleils is the second regional private center offering an individually tailored outpatient program for rehabilitation and functional rehabilitation.

The neurological rehabilitation unit has 43 hospitalization beds in a unit dedicated to the care of patients who had suffered strokes, spinal cord injuries or neuropathies.

An expert multidisciplinary team focuses on maximizing the recovery of each patient. This team includes physicians specialized in neurological rehabilitation, specialized nurses, therapists (physical, speech and occupational), neuropsychologists, psychologists and social workers.

The rehabilitation center Les Trois Soleils has developed an expert program in treating neurological relapses during the patient’s stay as well as maintaining regular follow-up visits, several of them specialized (neurological pain, spasticity with injection of botulic toxins, neuro-orthopedics).

The neurological rehabilitation unit actively collaborates with the research units concerning neuropsychological disorders.

Management of chronic lower back pain through Functional Restoration of the Spine.

Our program of functional restoration of the spine (RFR) is a method of treating chronic lower back pain.

This type of treatment through dynamic rehabilitation is offered with principles that are often opposed to traditional methods.

The goals of this functional restoration of the spine are :

¤ The restoration of physical parameters
¤ The integration of movement in the therapy
¤ The consideration of psychological disorders as well as social and occupational consequences
¤ The managing of the patient by a multidisciplinary team.

The program of functional rehabilitation of the spine targets the improvement of three parameters where traditional treatments can fail :

¤ Pain, without it being a limiting factor to the continuation of the program
¤ The patient’s personal physical and psychological experiences
¤ The return to work

This multidisciplinary approach, done in a specific time and in a centralized place- the rehabilitation center, takes into account the global nature of the subject: functional, physical, mental, professional as well as socio-familial.

The program of functional restoration of the spine is based on the reconditioning to effort and the recovery of the physical, psychological, and socio-professional potential.

A focused consultation in our center, prior to your hospitalization, is necessary to benefit from this special care, after which a complete program of day-to-day rehabilitation is established. The goal of the RFR program is the continuation of a professional activity or the restoration of physical activities.

Vascular rehabilitation in occlusive lower-extremity arteriopathy

Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is caused by the localized narrowing or even the complete occlusion of the arteries that insure the vascularization of the legs.

This tends to lead to poorly irrigated muscles. There are no apparent symptoms at first, but pain similar to cramps gradually appear while walking (intermittent claudication). This pain can occur at all levels of the leg (from the buttock to the foot) and disappears at the cessation of walking.

The treatment of PAD at the intermittent claudication stage consists of re-training the patient to effort. This training is extremely effective when it is performed on a regular basis and overseen in a specialized center, over the course of several years. But the cessation of this rehabilitation program triggers the loss of the benefit of the training.

This patient management is possible at the Clinique Les Trois Soleils. Our goal is to improve the irrigation of the muscles and to develop a collateral circulation to compensate for the narrowed arteries.

The treatment includes :

¤ A consultation with a Physical Therapist who will decide which preliminary exams the patient should take before admission to the Clinique, as well as what type of care will be required.
¤ Patient management, usually an outpatient service or a 5-week inpatient service.

The development of a program of several hours per day, specific to each patient, which will be updated according to tests performed at the Clinique :

Vascular rehabilitation is prescribed and controlled on a regular basis by a specialized physician. It allows the patient to achieve better muscular performance during walking.

This treatment makes use of the following techniques :

¤ Muscular stretching techniques
¤ Respiratory physiotherapy aimed towards the vascular system
¤ Balneotherapy
¤ Muscular strengthening
¤ Physical exercise training: walking on flat ground or on a moving walkway with varying slopes, cycle ergometer for the upper and lower limbs, rowing machine, etc…

This program allows the patient to increase the distance he can walk without feeling pain.

At the end of his treatment, the patient is prescribed a self-program of personalized rehabilitation that he can follow at home in the long run.
